Did anyone receive card mailed e-mail/status update? I saw one member receive that.
Today I received an email "Approval notice sent."

Current Status: Approval notice sent.
On August 12, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.
I was expecting my cards for the last 2 days. But nothing happend, hope I will receive my cards by this Friday.

Wanted to know what the members here think of the probability of receiving RFE from USCIS to find out whether the applicant is still in a "same or similar" job when the time comes to adjudicate cases for for EB3 India.
I ask this because in a poll conducted in a separate thread, it seems the number of people waiting for their GCs are more with PDs before Dec 2004 than after that date.
When the dates become current again for these people, do you think USCIS will be sending RFEs to get the employment information for every single of them ? Is there is a percentage from the pending applications that they pick for RFE, assuming all applicants who changed employers DID NOT notify USCIS when they changed jobs OR is it completely up to the whims of the adjudicating officer to send an RFE ?

It already does, if you have an approved I-140 based on your LC.
For old PD, pending I-140 should not be bottleneck.
PD should be first criteria but US experience should not be ignored completely. US experience should be giving less point then PD.
10 points for each month for PD and 1 point for each month for being in US. GC priority should be created after calculating total points for PD and for being in US.

I am trying to switch employer. The job title and job description is similar what written in my I140. At least 75% job duties are included in new job duties. But none of new employers where I found employment ready to write job duties. What is the other way to show that I am doing similar job duties. Should I keep scree shot of JOB add? Any idea.
Also my current EAD will expire in Aug,2011 I have to file extension in April. Employer asks if extension is denied... How to explain new employers.
If job title is exactly same as written in I140/labour does it still require to show job duties written by employer to USICS.

Agree with mostly what you have said. Question still remains what causes people not to contribute even 20$ now while in the past they have contributed 50 , 100 or even more. Just something to think about.
I disagree. Changes in laws do not happen overnight and any efforts that core is making cannot be made public all the time. If they can get thousands of people the benefit of moving to EAD etc. then I am sure they are working behind the scenes to get more favorable changes done when the time is right. I have faith in their ability.
Moreover since I am not actively volunteering in any activities the least I can do is contribute. So I call on everyone to contribute for your cause - none of us is doing anyone a favor by contributing. We are DIRECTLY favoring us by making a contribution.

If skill bill is passed in the same form as it is Americans will be alarmed seeing the inflow based on exemption of US based Master degree and STEM. Not only to Americans it is threat for current H1s and green card holders as well. The problem is those who have money in India can get admission in USA MS degree in any non standard college(I do not think INS can evaluate whether it is standard or not). So atleast 4 times of current MS students will come and they will get h1(I think Ms people has exemption in quota) thro Desi consultants by paying Money and get green card immeditely. This will defeat the purpose of skill bill itself. And also India so many people are doing MSC they can get gc easily here(As we know Indians or anyone will use loopholes to come here and get gc). If immigration is increased so much then it will impact all kinds of exsisting people. I think there should be control in number of h1s and also green cards. I am clear that both H1 and green card numbers should be increased but blanket exemption should not be given any category especially for H1. There were a situation on 2000 and 2001 lot of people returned India because of too much supply and Americans were angry with immigrants at that time especially H1 because they were laid off.

Yep, I want to predict what USCIS may do,,, not what I want USCIS to do :)
The priority dates or per country limit does not matter for USCIS right now. My prediction is USCIS currently must be working on the following reconciliations in order to avoid duplicating visa numbers and wasting visa numbers. Unless USCIS have the correct number of visa requirements, the dates will not move forward.
Reconciliations
1. Converted or converting cases from EB3 to EB2
2. Two Sets of applications from the same family ( Husband and Wife)
3. I-140 from multiple employer for the same applicant (Both Hunsband and wife).
4. Two different Alien numbers.
5. The cases stuck in the name check and realased becaues of 180 days memo
Once everything is sorted out...its going to be one click away for USCIS to adjusdicate the cases. If DOS moves the dates before USCIS sorting out the above, they are inviting a law suits or Mandamus writ due to outside of processing time. Now USCIS is having breathing time by keeping the priority date backward. Probably, after all the reconciliations, unused visa numbers may be recaptured

That's why I said before;some people are pretty sure that if democrats win, we will be alright. In my view it may turn out to be the opposite. Democrats favor illegal immigration. I think they are less inclined to pass our SKULL bill alone. I strongly believe that that democrats would rather attach our bill to the CIR/illegal alien amnesty bill, which still will be controversial to pass. Even if Sen. Specter and his team manage to flood America with illegal aliens, then we may take a hit from the collateral effects caused by millions of applications at USCIS.

If you think , by asking foreign born workers to go back you can get more access to the so called "wealth" you are talking about , its time you enroll for an Economics 101 . It is your proud America that has long been shouting from the rooftops about the need to have more open borders, facilitate global transfer of knowledge and commodities . Anyway , I dont think I have to even argue with you as you need lots of orientation before I get into a meaningful debate with you . This could be one side of story. There were other posts which was mentioning about some fake resumes given by some Indian consultancy companies. So all those are isolated cases and we cannot take into account. I am seeing lot of hard working Americans and Indians as well. Also a family person with 2 kids cannot spend 12 or 16 hours per day compared to Bachlors(Most of the Bachlors who are spending 12 to 16 hours are H1b persons). If assesment is done based on that then that does not make any sense. Then do you thinkyou need to fire more than 35 year Old people and recruit 25 year people That is not American way. This country for long time Top rankholders as well as school dropouts also could survive and Lead a decent quality of life. I knew lot of Indians most of them gc holders and some H1b also those who were just average in skills had tough time in getting job between 2000 to 2004 because of more number of H1B people and also economy was bad. So there is no surprise some Americans also might have similar situation. But past 2 years everybody I knew were able to get job and survive well. This is because of economy and also because of limited H1b. But Corporations are asking too much h1b(unlimited by 20% automatic increase every year and exemption for MS people). Certainly that will kill the demand in job market and bring down the rates. I think H1B increase should be compromise between demand and supply. Otherwise there is going to be huge opposition. Congress cannot only favor Business. But as a Senator they have to take care of all groups of people. There may be a possiblity that H1b increase may happen but EB relief may not happen not that much strong lobbey from Business compared to H1B. American companies lie Micosoft, Intel culd not get H1B people because Indian consultancy companies grabbed all the H1bs in first few weeks of April and May not because of numbers. So that is a differentind of problem

My 8 selfish American colleagues almost costed our company a $1.8 million project, simply because they could not cancel their preplanned trip to Bahamas. They went on their trip despite being warned 8 months in advance by our boss about a possible tough period during the critical design review of the project by the customer during the month of December.
My 5 hardworking H1B employees helped us out with the project resource planning,allocation layouts, financial statements, project planning and estimation analysis. 3 of them cancelled their trip to their home country just to save our business.
My boss is absolutely incensed and is going to fire these workers once they come back from their vacation.
Agreed that they are not expected to work more than 40 hours per week but during tough times their should be a certain sense of committment and solidarity towards your employer which was clearly lacking in my American colleagues.
According to my boss the current generation of American college graduates is the laziest he has ever seen and clearly ill equipped to handle tough job assignments during a time of crisis. He is lobbying very hard to get the SKIL bill passed and increase access for American businesses to global talent.

Where the hell all these guys when EB3 is getting 80K to 100K of total 140K visas all these years and EB2 is getting just merely 10%-15%. Nobody from EB2 didn't felt jealous like this before. It is hard to digest for them now.

When there is no movement ,this will be the reaction for the EB3 I people.
When you are eager for yr Gc ,the same rule applies for everone.
There is a big block EB3 row in between -so dont say all the visas were taken by Eb3 I only.

If they do come here, they are reluctant to go after the "GC". They want to wait for a few years, and would embark upon the journey only if there are any "fixes" in the EB GC system.
If not, there are several developed countries that take point based immigrant visa applications and give you a decision in a year or two.
Most of these young friends have already made plans to apply to these countries. Those who qualify have already applied. In one case, a friend whose H1B did not go through last year, immigrated to Australia. (Both he and his wife also found a job in less than a month.)
