Hagel Introduces Legislation to Deal with Illegal Immigrants Living in the U.S.
So, on the Illegal side we have:
Senate Bill: Hagel with The Immigrant Accountability Act of 2007
House Bill: Flake with the STRIVE
On the Legal and High-Tech side we have:
Senate Bill: Cornyn with SKIL Bill
House Bill: Shadegg with SKIL Bill
Senate Discussion: Last two weeks of May 2007.
Let the engines start.

I believe the intention of not moving too much beyond jul 06 , may be to make some spill over benfit happen to EB3 also. If they open the gate for EB2 now, lots of 485 application may come in and there may not be spill over to EB3. :)

Friends, we sent our h1b extension application in Jul 12 th to Vermont (VSC) and got receipt with in a week but still under process. now it is showing processing datge Apr 2007, can we convert to premium processing now ?. Thanks,:confused:

What are you saying? Health Services dismal? I thought it was better than US in many aspects. The cost is cheap for treatment (unless you have some uncommon disease. Since the system is churning up so many doctors, there is a lot of competition. Even in small villages you will find many doctors competing for patients. Maybe that is not true for everywhere, but that is what I have seen in my home state Haryana.
Also the education system may not be perfect, but kids don't have to go to private schools, because public schools have run out of capacity. There are problems like not all-around development, and not all kids doing great in studies. But that is true even in US, unless you are sending your kids to a fine private school (which by the way you can do in India, if you have money). JMHO

For the first time, the US moved to the 6th Spot in the world rankings by the world economic forum (Europe based Institution). The main reason was because of the huge current account deficit and negative savings (mainly federal deficit) which is a threat to the US competitiveness. China moved down due to corruption etc. India moved up but any further movement will depend on structural reforms, especially controlling the huge public service and red-tape and a creaking infrastructure - power, roads, ports, water supply - all of which are run by the government. The health services in large parts of India is dismal and so is the public education system (K-12). With the left firmly controlling the ruling party, deregulation is slow and insipid, and it is the private sector which is basically contributing to the GDP and Competitiveness. There is no box for A#. The fields are - Receipt #, Case Type (I-140), Receipt Date, Priority Date, Petitioner, Notice Date, Page (1 of 1), Beneficiary, Law firm's name and address, Notice Type (Approval, Preference category).
This was around April 2006. Maybe they changed the format?

unfortunately anything that says/reads no cap on h1 will be shot down as soon as it takes off...
Plus, H1B is debated and decided upon (pro-H1B's are quite happy as-is), EB has not been debated at all.

I had very very bad experience in Mumbai. I had lost my all documents except passport .Keep ur Documents all the time with you no matter what situation would be. Look for good safe hotel don’t go after chip hotel. One more thing keep all your valuables in secured place.
At consulate experience was pleasant.
This case u described is common and applicable to any city in world/India so please dont single out Mumbai. It is a fine city.

I have talked with my immegration attorney who filed my 140 and 485 on current employer's behalf. And surprisingly she is ready to file the AC21 for me. Obviously she is charging me for that, but I guess I am fine with that.
The excerpt form our communication is as following.
a) I need to get a AC21 letter signed by the new employer. This will describe my position and duties, which should be similar to the LC.
b) offer ltter need not describe word-word match of designation and duty.
c) if there is a huge rise 50% - no issue.
d) company size does not matter.
So I had decided to take the plunge, especially when I have my attorney guarding the case.
Write the market condition is not to well for H1B
a) My friend was laid off in Dec and he was serching for job. Suddenlt he realized that his earlier employer had revoked the H1B. So he was out of status for some days. He managed filing AC21 with his friend's company and managed.
b) I heard people ging for H1B extension was asked by USCIS to get a letter from the end client, saying the project will last for more than 3 years. I guess none will give that assurance in this market.
So I guess I will move on EAD. Let me check what happend and I will keep posting my experience here.

a. I think one of the reason is Labor substitution. If they want to use it for someone else. Now that this is eliminated, I think there will be minimal chances of revocation in future.
b. Do big companies like Infy, Wipro do this?
c. They could revoke because of problems between employer and employees...I think we need to be patient and work this out..

the new FP EAD will be the one that you file for renewal, they will not automatically issue a new one.
They stand to gain $340 from it.
For the person worried about his EAD dont go by what the customer rep said, they are forever giving out incorrect information, majority of EADs issued in the last 3 months have been without biometrics.
Wait for 10 days or get infopass appointment.
